Veneer-Art®
Veneer-Art® is a hybrid between real wood veneer
and plastic laminate.
Conventional
plastic laminates are made of printed paper bonded to layers
of phenolic-impregnated kraft paper with a thermally-fused
clear melamine surface. It is the melamine surface layer
which gives laminates their characteristic durability.
Veneer-Art® improves upon wood grain plastic laminates
by substituting real wood veneer for printed paper.
This dramatically improves the look and texture of the surface.
We suggest its use for corporate and institutional conference
rooms, dining rooms, multi-purpose rooms, libraries, classrooms,
and public areas where high performance must be combined
with the prestige and beauty of real wood.
Features
- Extreme Surface Durability. Veneer-Art® will
stand up to the same abuse as other plastic laminates.
The melamine surface is waterproof and scratch-resistant,
but not quite as clear and glossy as our catalyzed polyurethane
wood finishes.
- Broad Range of Wood Species and Finishes. Veneer-Art®
is offered in a variety of species and finishes. Since
the wood is covered by a tough melamine surface, we cannot
custom stain Veneer-Art®.
- Cost-effective. Veneer-Art®, while more expensive
that either most plastic laminates and wood veneers, offers
a lower yearly cost of ownership by extending the useful
life of furniture in hard use environments.
